Dancing in the Street / by Sarah L. Donovan

Our second major assignment is a Street Photography one. We weren't allowed to 'move', and all images had to be taken from the same area, be it a street, street corner or block of shops.

If you're in to Street photography you'd know that all the greats used small cameras like the Leica. This makes them relatively inconspicuous. We didn't have that luxury, we had to go out with our big-ass DSLRs! It definitely made the project hard and while most of us had no issues at all with the people we were taking photos of, some got into some arguments. It took me a couple of sessions to relax with my big DSLR, and some classmates commented on how well I blended in to the crowd.
